In his free time, Joshua enjoys his family, historical documentaries, lifting weights at the gym, playing sports, hiking, and camping.
A NOTE FROM THE LA BUSINESS GUY
I was not destined to be a business strategist.
There was no grand plan, no framed MBA on the wall, and no corporate ladder begging to be climbed. I stumbled into this world through the back door: One day, back in 2009, I was helping a friend untangle the chaos of her startup. Then, someone asked me if I could “take a look” at their operations. I said yes, partly because I was curious, and partly because I didn’t know how to say no.
Before I knew it, I was elbow-deep in businesses that weren’t mine, solving problems that weren’t on my to-do list, and realizing I was weirdly good at it. Turns out, cutting through the noise, spotting the cracks, and helping people fix what feels unfixable is something I can’t seem to turn off.
I built LA Business Guy not because I had some polished vision, but because I kept seeing the same thing — business founders, leaders, and managers drowning in overcomplicated advice, overpriced consultants, and a never-ending parade of PDF reports no one reads. That’s not my style. I don’t believe in pushing theories. I believe in getting in the trenches, asking the uncomfortable questions, and cutting through the fluff until we hit the real issues.

And don’t worry — we won’t charge you every time you blink during a meeting. We save that for the premium package.
Depending on the scope and nature of the work, we may charge:
- Project Fees: a flat rate for clearly defined projects with specific deliverables
- Hourly Rates: ideal for consulting or advisory sessions where flexibility is key
- Retainer Agreements: for ongoing support and consistent access to our expertise
- Custom Pricing: Got something unique in mind? We’re happy to create a bespoke pricing model that works for you.
Do you only do consulting work?
Yes, but with a twist: We take a very hands-on approach to working with you and your team.
We do most of the heavy lifting and working with you and your team to ensure the longevity of the strategies that we conceive, develop, and implement for your business or company.
If you do not have a full team in place, we can help you source the talent most suitable and relevant to your business or company, and train them accordingly.
How much coffee do you drink?
Never less than four espresso shots each day and sometimes five.
What if I need help deciding what to order for lunch?
